Spousal Support (alimony)
Income supplement or replacement for a spouse who earns less than his
or her marital partner. Spousal support is generally considered to be
taxable income for the person who receives it, and a tax deduction for
the person who pays it. Spousal support, maintenance, spousal maintenance
